These workshops have been developed by Autism Community Network’s team of professionals led by Executive Director Jessica H. Franco, PhD (CCC-SLP, BCBA) in consultation with ACN Medical Director Chris Plauché Johnson, MEd, MD. Sessions are taught by practicing, behavior analysts, physicians, and speech-language pathologists — giving participants an opportunity to acquire cutting edge information from some of the area’s most highly-qualified professionals.  REGISTER

  The Autism Institute is a weeklong course (40 hours) for teachers and therapists working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The course will be presented by Autism Community Network’s training team: Dr. Jessica Franco, CCC-SLP, BCBA-D; Dr. Berenice de la Cruz, BCBA-D; and Lupe Castaneda, BCBA. The course will focus on basic principles of ABA, teaching skills, and program implementation. Participants will be expected to complete homework assignments, and a comprehensive exam covering all content areas will be given at the end of the course. Hands-on training, conducted in the ACN Day Program classrooms will include observation of therapy and hands-on experience with a student under full supervision of a classroom teacher.

• Day 2: Reinforcement Prompting and Prompt Fading Shaping and Chaining Procedures

• Day 3: Verbal Behavior Intensive Teaching Sessions Natural Environment Teaching

• Day 4: Mand Training Echoic Training Joint Attention Training

• Day 5: Family Systems and Support Data Collection and Graphing Classroom
