Therapy Short-Course
During orientation, parents will be offered a 6-week course of on-site 1:1 therapy for their child. The therapy sessions will focus on 2-3 primary treatment objectives developed by the diagnostic team as part of the evaluation process. These objectives will vary for each child, but may include:
- reducing challenging behaviors
- developing joint attention
- increasing communication
- increasing play
- increasing social interaction
- improving self-help skills
Parents are required to attend and participate in all sessions, which will involve intensive parent training and education. Depending on your child’s needs, he or she may receive speech, occupational, and/or behavior therapy.
